Remedial and Sports Therapy

BSEMS is proud to work with Massage therapist Matthew Kaloutsis from Myofunction Remedial and Sport Therapy.

Myofunction is operated by Matthew Kaloutsis that offers a number of Remedial Massage services to improve your physical health and mobility.

Services:

Remedial Massage is a collective term that uses a range of soft-tissue techniques such as:

  • Trigger point therapy is a manual “press & release” technique that involves the application of slowly increasing, non-painful pressure over trigger points
  • Dry needling: There are many similarities between Dry Needling and Acupuncture, however they are not the same and I am not trained in acupuncture. Dry Needling is strictly based on Western Medicine studies and techniques and is increasingly used to treat musculoskeletal pain, poor posture, tight muscles and sporting injuries.
  • Sports massage is a technique that is specifically tailored to sporting injuries or ailments. It is not meant to be a relaxing massage and, indeed, can become quite vigorous at times. Contrary to its name, sports massage is not only utilised by professional sportspeople or people that exercise heavily.
  • Myofascial release is safe manual technique for stretching the fascia with the aim to balance the body. The goal of myofascial release is to release fascia restriction and restore mobility.

Benefits of Remedial & Sports therapy

  • Correct your posture
  • Prevent your injuries
  • Manage your pain
  • Prevent unnecessary surgery
