How do I know who is the appropriate Specialist to see?

Do I need a referral to be seen?
Sport and Exercise Medicine Physicians require a referral from your General Practitioner if you wish to attract a higher rebate from Medicare. However a referral is not absolutely necessary, and you may still attract a Medicare rebate without a referral from your Doctor. Please talk to our reception staff if you have any questions.
Our Neurosurgeon and Orthopaedic Surgeons need a referral from a doctor for you to be seen.
Our Allied Health practitioners do not require a referral, but if directed from your GP, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates.
Should I bring along past x-rays/investigations?
This is at the discretion of your treating practitioner, but generally bringing along as much information as you can reduces the need for chasing up on tests, and optimizes your time.
How is the fee for the appointment decided?
Individual practitioners will invoice according to their own policies. For most practitioners, patients will be entitled to some form of rebate, be it from Medicare or Private Health Insurance rebates. In most cases there will be an out of pocket expense. Please contact our reception staff if you have any further queries.
How is payment made?
Payment can be made via cash, cheque*, or credit card. Payment must be made on the day of consultation. (*Individual practitioners may vary).
What do I do if I have a complaint?
